There is therefore a continuing high demand for personnel for a wide variety of jobs. The iGaming jobs are varied, crisis-proof and competitive with attractive salaries. The industry is internationally oriented and offers conferences and job opportunities around the world.

In the following overview, we present the job market in online gaming with various iGaming jobs.

What types of iGaming jobs are there?

You don’t have to be a poker pro or entrepreneur to make money from online gambling in the broader sense: Online casinos and the iGaming industry are hiring permanently.

The term iGaming refers to gambling on the internet, but that does not mean that every job in this industry has to do with the internet or computers. Of course, the industry needs specialised professionals, especially in software development, online marketing or data analysis.

But there are also career opportunities in human resources, the legal department, sales or customer service. Our following overview of the most important and interesting job opportunities in the industry presents the essential iGaming jobs.

All salary details are rough averages and of course without guarantee; each applicant can negotiate individual remuneration according to their qualifications.

Developers and IT jobs

Working as a programmer in the iGaming industry does not always have to be about developing games. Without technology, iGaming is not possible and there is a constant need for staff with knowledge of almost all programming languages.

Even training as a programmer is possible in many iGaming companies. The opportunities for computer scientists and programmers range from frontend and backend to mobile apps and IT security, database and payment solutions, testing and automation, quality assurance or even tasks in management or strategic planning.

Salaries for iGaming IT jobs range from €30,000 to €60,000 on average, but can exceed €100,000 per year with experience and responsibility.

Content

Content is a broad field, but it means content for websites such as blog articles, social media content and web pages, but also design elements, user interface and short texts. Content producers can also be responsible for the content of products such as casino games or software.

Possible jobs include content writer, i.e. copywriter and writer, graphic designer, UX designer and the respective management positions. In the content area, there is often overlap with the marketing department. Content producers and managers can earn on average between 33,000 € and 45,000 € per year, as department head also 55,000 € to 90,000 € per year.

Marketing

Online casinos also recruit their customers primarily on the internet. The iGaming industry is therefore always up to date in terms of online marketing and the corresponding departments have their hands full. Employees here often take on tasks in different areas and those who know their stuff can make a career.

Search engine optimisation, social media, creating and placing internet ads, campaign management, affiliate marketing and support are all on the agenda for marketing jobs in the industry. Apprenticeship opportunities are also available depending on the company.

A marketing manager can earn an average of €38,000 to €55,000, but the salary of a head of marketing can exceed €110,000 per year.

Sales and distribution

In the business-to-business (B2B) sector, the iGaming industry offers competitive salaries that are often enhanced by attractive bonuses. If you are good with people and can sell a product or service well, you can look forward to a stellar career. Companies with casino software and games are always looking for sales staff.

Prior knowledge of the sector and the market is of course an advantage, but even those who have completed a classic degree in business administration can start here.

Customer service

For online casinos, customer care is also called player care. But companies that operate casino software and games also maintain contact with their customers. As a customer service agent, the salary is roughly equivalent to a well-paid job in a call centre. However, with more responsibility and many customers under one’s belt, the remuneration of a job in iGaming customer support also increases.

As Head of CRM or Head of Country Management, annual salaries can range from €85,000 to €110,000.

Analysis and growth

The evaluation of all possible data of a company and the derivation of corresponding business decisions can also be the task of managers.

However, many companies now hire their own staff for this purpose, for example as data scientists, data and intelligence analysts, business intelligence or growth hackers.

Cost control and growth are often the goals of data analysis, but also product improvements and customer satisfaction. Salaries here are very competitive and vary with the tasks and responsibilities.
